MYOFASCIAL TRIGGER POINT

Myofascial pain often results from muscle injury or repetitive strain. When stressed or injured, muscles often form trigger points, like contracted knots, that cause pain and tightness. Trigger Point Therapy involves applying pressure to the trigger point and increasing the pressure as the trigger point "releases" and softens. Many patients experience relief from pain during the first treatment. For others several treatments are needed before their pain starts to diminish.

MYOFASCIAL RELEASE THERAPY

Myofascial Release Therapy is a highly specialized fascia stretching technique intended for myofascial pain syndrome. It will relieve you from tension, pain and discomfort, relax contracted muscles, improve blood and lymphatic circulation and stimulate the stretch reflex in the muscle. Myofascial Release is a gentle healing massage, that creates space within the body for healing to occur naturally. Using sustained light pressure to melt the layers of fascia that envelope and penetrate muscles and organs, then moving into longer deep strokes that help to “iron” out any “knots” in the tissues.

GuaSha

GUA SHA

Gua sha is a natural, alternative therapy that involves scraping your skin with a massage tool to improve your circulation. This ancient Chinese healing technique may offer a unique approach to better health, addressing issues like chronic pain. A technician scrapes your skin with short or long strokes to stimulate microcirculation of the soft tissue, which increases blood flow. Massage oil is applied to your skin, and then uses a tool to repeatedly scrape your skin in a downward motion.

Gua sha is intended to address stagnant energy, called chi, in the body that practitioners believe may be responsible for inflammation. Inflammation is the underlying cause of several conditions associated with chronic pain. Rubbing the skin’s surface is thought to help break up this energy, reduce inflammation, and promote healing.

This treatment is great for those with chronic pain such as arthritis and fibromyalgia, hepatitis B, migraine, neck pain, or are perimenopausal.
